Vellore city is well known by everyone as the originating place for the freedom movement as early as 1808 in the form of “Sepoy Mutiny” and is popular world wide for the healing and medical education through the famous Christian Medical College. Though the Adventist presence in the city could be counted back to some fifty years, the educational work of the church was initiated as late as 1992 by Pr. Dudley Ponniah largely as late as a work of faith, with only 12 students as the church vestry without much of monitory support.
The work of faith continued with Pr.C.Vijayan though the impetus in the form of developing infrastructure came from Mr. Dr.J. Wilsons. With dedication, handwork and commitment exhibited by the successive administrations, the school has now grown to a full fledged higher secondary school with over 2500 and 121 staff members. The seventh day Adventist college of education is the new milestone added in the educational ministry, the first of its kind in the South Eastern India Union. It was formally inaugurated by the Division President Pr.R.John in the august presence of the Division and Union leaders on the tenth of November 2008.
